Over 300 degrees were awarded to Valley View University students at its Second Session of the 23rd graduation ceremony recently. Out of this number, 240 graduated with undergraduate degrees: 18.75% with First Class Honours, 29.58% (2nd Upper), 51.25% (2nd Lower), and 0.41% (Third Class Honours). Thirty-seven (37) were awarded Post-graduate Diplomas whereas twenty-eight (28) were honoured with the award of Master of Business Administration degrees.
During the ceremony Professor Daniel Kwame Bediako, Vice-Chancellor congratulated graduates and thanked parents, families and friends of the graduates for their support during their years of study. He was also confident that the training Valley View University offers students here has the prospect to transform each student into an agent of positive change, and make them ready to serve.
Prof Bediako reminded the graduands that, they have been well positioned enough “to face life’s challenges with integrity, to inspire hope in the hopeless, and to offer solutions to the challenges that confront us in our communities”. He therefore implored them to commit themselves to good works and to fight for that which is true and right. “In all circumstances, underpin your decisions and actions with the values of excellence, integrity, and selfless service!” He entreated the graduands to remember to be good ambassadors of Valley View University.
Professor Daniel Bediako finally called on the government of Ghana to take interest in and support students’ projects as they each promise a significant contribution to the development agenda of this country.
Hon Okyem Aboagye asked the graduands to see their service to people, to their community, to the country and to the world at large as a great honour, and they are to therefore do whatever it takes to become agents of transformation.
The Guest Speaker for the ceremony, Hon Daniel Okyem Aboagye, the Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency, encouraged the graduands to pursue excellence in everything they do as they step into the working world. He advised the graduands to be hard-working and maintain a good work attitude, and they should remember that, their choices will be greatly influenced by their purpose in life.

A total of 2,583 students in various disciplines were graduated in the First Session in July at the Oyibi Campus, followed by other sessions in Techiman and Kumasi campuses. Valley View University holds two graduation ceremonies, the major in July and a supplementary ceremony in December within the academic year. Accordingly, students who have satisfied all requirements do not have to wait too long for graduation ceremonies.
