Introduction
SMARTBLOCK4AFRICA, in collaboration with Valley View University (VVU) from Accra, Ghana, and Babcock University from Nigeria, held a conference titled “Emerging and Resilient Technologies in Building and Securing African Nations” at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) campus in Achimota from 30 September to 1 October 2024. The event brought together local and international experts to explore the transformative potential of blockchain and smart technologies in advancing Africa’s
development.
In a landmark collaboration aimed at advancing higher education opportunities, Valley View University (VVU) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo, represented by the country’s embassy in Ghana. The agreement, signed on Friday, 29 September 2024, solidifies a commitment to enrol Congolese nationals at the university annually.

Valley View University (VVU) held its 31st congregation ceremony with grandeur and distinction over the weekend of July 13-14, 2024. The two-day event commenced with baccalaureate and consecration services on Saturday, July 13, and culminated in a Commencement ceremony on Sunday, July 14, where 845 students graduated.
Under the auspices of the Pro-Vice Chancellor’s Office and through the efforts of the Department of Centre for Academic Research and Engaged Scholarship (CARES), Valley View University has inaugurated its maiden Institutional Review Board (IRB) with certification by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
