An induction ceremony has been held to officially usher Dr. Winfred Ofoe Larkotey into office as Rector of the Kumasi Campus of Valley View University.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Bediako, charged the new Rector to keep the ideals of the University and rise to the call of his new office. The Vice Chancellor also formally introduced Dr. Larkotey to the staff of the Kumasi Campus.
In his response, Dr. Larkotey acknowledged the privilege to be appointed into the high office of Campus Rector. He solicited the support of the staff and faculty of the campus to help the University grow to an enviable height.
The new Rector also outlined projects he will be focusing on during his tenure of office. These include improvement in the ambience of the Campus, infrastructure development, introduction of regular programs, improvement in communication and IT services as well as improved working relationships among faculty and staff.
In a brief address, the outgoing Rector of the Campus, Prof Emmanuel Bismark Amponsah appreciated the workers at the Campus for the support they accorded him during his tenure as Rector and prayed for same for his successor. He then ceremonially handed over the assets of the Campus to the new Rector.
On the part of the Staff and Faculty of the Campus, they expressed their joy in having Dr. Larkotey join them again as he had previously worked with them as a Vice Rector. the Staff shared their high expectations of him for his 'second coming'.
In attendance at the induction ceremony were other university officers such as the Pro- Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Agyekum Boateng; the Registrar, Mr. Albert Kweku Imbrah; the Chief Finance Officer, Dr Williams Kwasi Peprah; and The Dean for Advancement, Pastor Dr Isaac Bimpeh Boateng.
The Kumasi Campus was represented by members of the Campus Management Committee, (CMC) which included the Vice Rector, Dr Isaac AKwasi Adu, Campus Registrar, Dr Matilda Obeng Kyereh, Campus Finance Officer, Mr. Ebenezer Aquah, Campus Chaplain and Dean of Students and Advancement, Dr Kwabena Annoh Boafo as well as all Faculty and Staff at the Campus.
