Two Nursing students from Valley View University, Techiman Campus, have emerged first runner-up in a keenly contested quiz competition involving Nursing and Midwifery institutions.
The quiz competition was organized as part of activities marking the Year of the Nurse and Midwife (YONM) and took place at the University of Energy and Natural Resources in Sunyani. The event was put together by the Ministry of Health and the National Planning Committee of YONM.
The competing Nursing and Midwifery schools were grouped into Northern, Middle, and Southern zones with Valley View University, Techiman campus contesting in the Nothern zone against universities such as the University of Development Studies, Catholic University, and the University of Energy and Natural Resources.
Valley View University was represented by Paul Akurugu and Seth Adjei Mensah, both final-year Nursing students. The two-man team was in the lead in the first three rounds of the quiz until the fourth and final round when the University of Energy and Natural Resources team overtook them with points from a single correct answer to win the competition.
The quiz covered areas such as Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Obstetrics as well as current issues on national and international health.
