The Department of Computing Sciences and Engineering has initiated a programme called Technology Innovation Challenge.
The Technology Innovation Competition will be an annual programme which will see students in the department competing among themselves in the area of technological innovation such as software development.
The goal of the competition is to demonstrate why Valley View University and the Computing Sciences and Engineering Department in particular, is a Centre of Excellence for ICT solutions in Ghana and beyond.
The competition also seeks to showcase some of the ICT products developed by VVU students with zero supervision from the teaching faculty.
‘’By this, we are creating independent students who can identify national problems and provide evolutionary technological solutions to them,’’ said Mr. John Kingsley Arthur, a Head of Department for Computing Sciences.
The Department believes that through the programme, it will establish a market space where students' talents will be showcased, leading to possible job creation and/or job placement in future.
